Cost context / North Carolina

What treatment costs in North Carolina

Liquid

$1,200 to $2,800

Bait

$1,800 to $3,800

Tent

$1,800 to $4,500

Tent: drywood tent fumigation; coastal communities only and uncommon inland.

  • Statewide range: $1,000 to $4,500; bond $200 to $550 a year
  • Inspection form: WDIR (Wood-Destroying Insect Report) Form 100, the NCDA&CS standard pre-closing inspection form
  • NCDA&CS records the phases on the pest control licence: P structural pest control, W wood-destroying organisms, F fumigation. Termite work is phase W.

Categories on the NC register

  • Structural pest control (phase P)760
  • Wood-destroying organisms including termites (phase W)634
  • Fumigation (phase F)32

NCDA&CS writes the phases onto the licence number itself: 1489PW is licence 1489 certified for phase P (structural pest control) and phase W (wood-destroying organisms); phase F is fumigation. North Carolina licenses the certified individual rather than the firm, so the licensees at one business address are merged here into a single business record that lists every licence number held at it. Licensees' own names and email addresses are in the register and are never published here.

Section C / Reading a NC licence record

What the NCDA&CS record does and does not tell you

Every record on this page comes from the NCDA&CS Structural Pest Control licence search export (Pest Control Licensee, licence type 021), portal export taken 1 Sep 2026. The regulator is the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS), Structural Pest Control and Pesticides Division. The status shown is the one on that file; a licence can lapse or be renewed between snapshots. All 781 North Carolina licences on the file share the 30 Jun 2027 expiry, which is the annual cycle. The North Carolina export reports eight statuses; only the two the division uses for a current licence, NEW and RENEWED, are published here, and each record shows the word the register uses. EXPIRED, INACTIVE UNINSURED, INSURANCE EXPIRED, CANCELED, REVOKED and DELETED licences are excluded.

634 of the 781 records (81%) carry the termite category as NCDA&CS records it. The rest hold general pest, fumigation or other structural categories only; they can inspect and treat other pests but the register does not license them for wood-destroying organism work.

745 records met the data floor for a full operator file (licence number, categories, status and snapshot, address, county, metro, nearest alternatives, plus a phone number where the regulator publishes one). 644 geocoded to the rooftop, 111 to a ZIP centroid, and 26 could not be placed and are listed as rows only. 1 operator (<1%) is headquartered outside North Carolina.

The export is the CSV the division's own public licence search produces, the route NCDA&CS confirmed on 28 August 2026. It names the licence holder and carries an email address for two thirds of records; both are dropped at ingest and never published. Two licences whose recorded business name is simply the licence holder's own name are excluded, because a person is not a business. The county shown is the one the business address falls in, which is not always the county NCDA&CS files the licensee under.

Status is shown exactly as the regulator reported it on the snapshot date and is not a statement about today. Registers change with every renewal cycle; the regulator's own search is the only current source. Business records only: individual applicators, technicians and field representatives are never listed here.

This register extract is an independent consumer guide, not a referral service and not an endorsement of any operator. We are not a pest control company and receive nothing from the businesses listed. Verify licence status with the regulator before signing a contract or paying a deposit. Listed businesses can request a correction or removal at [email protected].
